Hotel Orangutan  was started by a committed team including reknowned tech innovator Neal Cross and his friend and local Iman, Abdullah Togap with the objective to advocate for local prosperity, community empowerment and orangutan protection.

Besides its mission to raise awareness of the plight of the Sumatran Orangutan, the hotel has also been a source of jobs and education for the local villages and helped setup a local transport and furniture businesses both through interest free loans and the steady supply of customers.

We are also employing locals for jungle trekking and using the profits to fund local projects through www.bukitlawang.org
