There is so much to learn from this project as their purpose is to build a more sustainable ecosystem

In August 2016, Living In Minca team had the opportunity to visit Bukit Lawang in the North of Sumatra, Indonesia. We have visited Hotel Orangutan, a Social Enterprise that advocate for local prosperity, community empowerment and orangutan protection. There is so much to learn from this project as their purpose is to build a more sustainable ecosystem. There are many threats that the Sumatran Orangutans are facing that are driving them to extinction, protecting the environment and empowering the community may preserve the few Orangutan families that still alive. Hotel Orangutan is married with this cause!

Beautiful Hotel in the Jungle

5 Star

Pros: Huge Room, Clean, Accommodating Service, Overnight Jungle Tour
On the whole our experience in Indonesia could be characterised by genuine warmth, honesty and people going out of their way to help you. Hotel Orangutan is no exception… Indo isn’t like other parts of Asia I have visited. Come ready to relax and enjoy one of the friendliest places in the world (unless of course, you meet the infamous Mina, the Orangutan!).

Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Orangutan. Rooms are very comfortable, everything was very clean and the staff is just great. It was as comfortable as you can get in the jungle. Would definitely recommend it.
